Itinerary

During the pandemic, a new trekking spot emerged in Cambodia: Khnong Pshar. It offers a stunning view from its summit, unlike any other hill in the area. It is situated in the Cardamom Mountains, between Kampong Speu and Koh Rong provinces, and can be reached by a two-hour drive from Phnom Penh. The name Khnong Pshar comes from the local words for mountain and market, meaning The Market on the Mountain Range.

Your adventure begins at 6 am, when our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Phnom Penh. We will drive to Kampong Speu, where we will have breakfast and coffee. Then we will head to Putang Village, the starting point of our trek. After registering at the Cardamom environment office, we will get ready and trek 4 km across the local farms and rice fields until we reach the base of Khnong Krapeu Mountain. From there, we will hike 8 km to the summit, which will take us about 5 hours, with stops for lunch, rest, and learning about the jungle flora. We will arrive at the top around 3 pm, and enjoy the view and a coffee break. Then we will trek 3 km more to Khmer Krahom Waterfall, where we will camp for the night. You can swim in the waterfall and relax, while our team prepares the campsite and dinner for you.

After trekking 12km, we will arrive at the Khnong Sampao Mountain area, where we will set up our camp for the night. We will have some time to rest and eat lunch, and then at 3 pm we will resume our trek to the top of Khnong Phsar Mountain, which is 2 km away from our camp. We will admire the amazing view from the summit, take many photos, and watch the sunset before heading back to the campsite.
