National Museum of Cambodia
Activities: Enjoy a full -day tour in Phnom Penh to visit some of the most amazing destinations.
After breakfast, you will embark on a city tour of Phnom Penh, starting with the National Museum which offers a stunning setting for an impressive collection of ancient Khmer art. The museum owns many exhibits from the Angkor period (9th to 15th century) but some sculptures date from as early as the 4th century. Next, head to Royal Palace - one of Phnom Penh’s most brilliant architectural achievements which are also the official residence of the Royal Family. Continue to the Silver Pagoda. Located at the north of the palace grounds, the Silver Pagoda is the most sacred temple in the country.
After lunch, we will set out to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek which is approximately 17km southwest from Phnom Penh town. Looking at these peaceful green fields of Cheung Ek today, you may not imagine the horrors that were buried here decades ago. In the darkest period of Cambodia’s history, about 17,000 men, women, children and infants who had been confined and tortured at S-21 (now Tuol Sleng Museum) were sent to the extermination camp of Choeung Ek. In order to memorialize the dead victims under the reign of Khmer Rouge leader, Pol Pot, a huge memorial was constructed in Choeung Ek. This place is a chilling reminder of the cruelty of the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime. An exploration of the Killing Fields evokes the incredible sadness that surrounds the site. On the other hand, it shows the resilience of the Cambodia people when they left the painful period and moved on to rebuild their nation. Then we will explore the S21 Prison Museum. Afterwards, the today’s tour concludes at Psar Toul Tom Pong, often called the “Russian Market”. Wandering through the stalls filled with souvenirs, local handicrafts, and electronic goods gives you a good chance to test out your bargaining skills. The car drives you back to your hotel for an overnight stay in Phnom Penh.

Banteay Srei
Activities: Explore the small temples that are less visited than the temples in the Angkor area.
Starting early in the morning to beat the crowd, we will travel off the beaten track today. Situated 35km from Angkor area, the mysterious Banteay Srei is one of the smallest sites at Angkor; despite of its small size, it is of great cultural significance. The ancient temple is renowned for its Khmer classical style architecture and its carvings in three-dimensions. Banteay Srei is cut from stone of a pinkish hue and consists of some of the finest stone carving anywhere on earth, said to be carved by women only as the detailed carvings are supposedly too fine for the hand of a man. Continue to explore the petite hilltop temple, Chau Srei Vibol which is indeed part of a larger complex that stretched over the entire hill. Located far away from the main tourist routes, this charming temple is relatively under-visited compared with more centrally located temples and brings you a totally different view of temples in Cambodia.
Lunch will be served at the local family home and cooked by the village chef who survived during Khmer Rouge regime.
This afternoon, we will venture to the Roluos group of temples - some of the oldest in the region, dating back to the 9th century. The three temples (Preah Ko, Bakhong and Lolei) that make up the Roluos Group are all that remains of Hariharalaya – the first capital city of the Khmer Empire in the Angkor region. We will explore further to Bakhong Temple, considered to be the most impressive of the temples in the Roluos Group.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Ta Prohm
Activities: Spend your full day to explore Angkor with its major historical attractions.
Beginning today’s tour early in the morning to avoid the crowd, we start with the jungle-swallowed temple that appeared in the movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001). Ta Prohm is a mystical temple in which tree roots entwine with ancient ruins, giving it an otherworldly, unique experience. Leaving the fabulous ruins, we venture to the mysterious Angkor Wat and marvel at the longest extensive bas-relief anywhere on earth surrounding the outside of the central temple complex. This World Heritage Site is considered to be the largest religious structure on earth, offering an astonishing experience.
Lunch is on your own.
After lunch, we continue to another highlighted temple - Angkor Thom. You will be awestruck by the line of 54 divinities and demons that create a dramatic spectacle beside the road. Then, we explore Bayon Temple and admire its stone towers topped by smiling faces before walking around the temple complex of the Baphuon, Elephant Terrace, Leper King Terrace and Royal Palace area. Overnight stay in Siem Reap.
